Nothin' like the real thing, baby...

After too many years with our Charlie Brown-style artificial tree, we harvested our own this year.

Decisions are the worst. We circled the whole field a couple of times narrowing down the selection. They were a flat rate of $20, so we were thinking big!

The chosen one!

No saw? No worries, I'll gnaw it down.

The Lay's potato chip guy was also there getting a tree with his family. He let us each pick our favorites from the enormous supply in his truck (Kid #2=Cheetos, Kid#1=Popcorn, Mom=Sun Chips, Dad=Dortitos; afterwards everyone regretted that we forgot to check for salt and vinegar). Deciding on the perfect snack was almost as hard as picking the perfect tree.

Very cute! Do they prune these trees??? They look too perfect to be in the middle of the forest. What a fun day! Coley

I think they are pruned a little, but not much. In the Northeast they have to clear forest to make room for anything. So it's kind of funny that they clear forest to grow Christmas trees. But trees are easy to grow here. We don't have to go far, these type of tree farms are everywhere.

That IS the perfect tree! How fun! I wanted to do this this year -- next year, next year.

I haven't seen a living coniferous tree for 6 months. I love your tree. We got chips from the Lay's truck once. The delivery guy used to live next door to us. Looking at the giant chip on the side of his truck out the window was such torture.
